Glendale Colorado Dispensaries

Glendale Colorado Dispensaries

When Colorado Amendment 64 passed into law in November of 2012, it was just one short month before recreational cannabis was legalized throughout the state.

By January of 2014, cannabis dispensaries in Glendale were free to open up shop and serve the growing demands of Glendale residents.

Since that time, a multitude of dispensaries has popped up in and around the Glendale, CO area. We’re here to help you find the best ones for your needs.

About Glendale Colorado

Situated in Arapahoe County, Glendale is a great place to live and work. Offering an urban feel, the community is ripe with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and parks. A notably ‘liberal’ area, many young professionals have found their way to calling Glendale home.

As of the last Census (2020), this quaint urban oasis was home to just 4,613 individuals, a large percentage of whom enjoy partaking in cannabis and marijuana for both medicinal and recreational purposes.

Recreational Dispensaries in Glendale Colorado

Recreational marijuana was legalized in 2012. Since then, over 2700 licensed cannabis businesses and/or dispensaries have registered throughout the state, many of which have landed in Glendale.

Recreational dispensaries in Glendale serve a specific segment of the population who enjoy the use of marijuana and cannabis for pleasure, not medicine. Recreational dispensaries sell cannabis to consumers without a medical card, adhering to local and state laws regarding recreational use.

Medical Dispensaries in Glendale Colorado

Medicinal dispensaries are where it all began in Glendale. Prior to legalization for recreational use, Glendale residents were only able to purchase from licensed medical dispensaries and only with the proper documentation from their doctor, along with a valid weed card.

Legalized in 2000, medicinal dispensaries still serve a significant role in Glendale, offering medical-grade cannabis to those suffering from a broad range of conditions.

Dispensaries Open Late in Glendale Colorado

It might be 4:20 pm somewhere, but if you forgot to re-up on your stash, work long hours, or simply didn’t have time earlier in the day, a late-night dispensary is your best bet.

According to Colorado law, dispensary transactions are required to be completed no later than 11:59 PM. While some dispensaries choose to operate ‘normal’ hours (say 9 am to 6 pm), others choose to keep their doors open late to serve the ‘late night’ crowds.

For example, one dispensary in Glendale stays open until 11:45 pm (cutting it close, but still staying lawful).

Rules and Regulations for Dispensaries in Glendale Colorado

Who Can They Sell to?

Any adult individual who is over the age of 21 is allowed to buy, possess, and use marijuana within the confines of Colorado’s state borders.

This rule also applies to tourists who may be visiting the state.

How Much Can a Glendale Dispensary Sell to You?

A non-resident of the state (i.e. a tourist) can purchase the same amount of marijuana as can a state resident. Those who show a valid ID are allowed to buy up to 1-ounce of marijuana. This restriction applies to flowers only.

Under Colorado law, 1oz of the flower is determined to be equivalent to 8 grams of concentrate no matter its form (i.e. oil, wax, bidder, shatter, etc.), OR, 800 milligrams of edibles.

Are There Restrictions on Store Hours for Dispensaries in Glendale, CO?

Yes. No Glendale dispensary is allowed to open before 8 am, or sell marijuana past 12 am.

Can I Consume Marijuana On-Site at a Dispensary?

Some dispensaries have special rooms or areas where consumers can experiment with and try new products. However, you cannot DRIVE after doing so. Consuming cannabis and driving is against the law, and you would be putting yourself at risk of a DUI (or worse).

Can I Purchase Weed with My Debit or Credit Card at Dispensaries in Glendale?

It depends. Since marijuana is federally illegal, and since banks are FDIC insured, many refuse to do business with the industry. However, regulations have lightened a bit, and there are some dispensaries that will take a debit card.

Nearly all dispensaries have ample ATM machines on-premise or nearby to easily access cash for purchases.

Where Can I Smoke Marijuana In Glendale, CO?

Although marijuana is legal, using it when and where you please is not. It is illegal to consume marijuana in ‘public’. This means that your best bet is to consume it in the privacy of your own home. Do note that it is a landlord’s right to ban the use of marijuana in their apartment building or rented home, so always check the rules of your residence.

Similarly, hotels, motels, and other businesses may implement ‘no smoking zones’ or policies you may need to adhere to. You also can’t smoke in a parked car, nor on any state government property, from schools to parks.
